A New Year's Treat for You

You know the holiday houses with Christmas lights choreographed to music? Well, after seeing some online and driving to one over-the-top version in person, we decided to let our house join in the fun.

Here is our inspiration house (thanks, bossy!):

And (get excited now) here is ours:

Just as impressive is the 5-minute raw footage of our flashing house on a totally silent street--all you hear is me laughing (I was out in the road videoing under an umbrella because it was snowing) and Rick inside yelling commands to the kids: "1-2-3 On! 1-2-3 Off! W-a-i-t for it... GO!!"

Our favorite FHE yet.

Wow, now THAT is impressive! Seriously, how long did it take you to come up with that?

And what's up with Amazing Grace techno style... really? Techno?

Okay--explanation: We thought it'd be SO funny to make a remedial Christmas house. Obviously it was a joke, I mean, we only had 4 possible light decorations...and no equipment...so we listened to Carol of the Bells a few times before everyone (well, 4 people) took post at a light switch or an extension cord. Then they blasted the song (inside) and switched the lights on and off to the beat...while I stood outside in the silence with the camera. Then we dubbed it together. And LAUGHED. :)

Rick says next year we're doing 'Amazing Grace'. It'll be an entirely different experience I'm sure.

I'm speechless! WOW. I knew you were the creative type but this is just...wow...what can I say except I think next year we should do a montage with several houses in the neighborhood. Something like the 12 days of Christmas and each house could be one of the 12 days. The possibilities are endless!!!
BTW the amazing grace house is psycho.

I thought that it was going to be something like, you turn the lights on and call it good. I had no idea that you were actually going to do something that dramatic. I was impressed I have to say!
