Part II: Loitering

I think I'll start the continuation of my random October list with November 4th: (Can you believe how well I'm doing at the un-chronological thing? It's big.)

#7. Election Day
It came, we voted, and we had an election night we'll never forget. After listening to both speeches once the votes were counted, I felt patriotic, hopeful, and thankful for the country we live in, flaws and all.

#8. We woke up to this blissful sight one October Sunday morning...

...and woke up to our second snow TODAY! It's been snowing all day at our house. Cozy sigh. I confess, I've had two mugs of hot chocolate.

#9. All things HALLOWEEN!

This year brought us Old Man (Brayden was the old version of his 20-something year old teacher), Bumblebee, Cave Girl, Go Diego Go, and Diego's sidekick, Baby Jaguar. If Baby Jaguar looks a like a monkey on your screen, don't be alarmed.

Corn Maze on McGee Family Fun Night

Armed with light sabers and glowstars, our group of 20ish split up and conquered the maze on a crisp fall night, then enjoyed hot chocolate/cider and donuts at the Quinneys' new home. Here's Connor, our fearless leader, and what it looks like to take a picture of a light saber being 'vwong'-ed:

We had perfect weather on Halloween Day--the warmest in years!

Even the Headless Horseman paid a visit!

Wow, can anyone see Maddie? It's like she's camouflaged... ;)

And on that festive note, I'll continue this one more time... Check it out, my spacing is all over the place and I'm still publishing. You know you like it.

loved your jack-o-lanterns and those kids of yours. . . precious!

okay, i have the answer to all your spacing woes. download windows live writer and then you write your posts in there and it automatically publishes them to your blog. it is SO much easier to make your posts look the way you want them to! i was going CRAZY with blogger (which is why i didn't use blogger at first) till i did that! you'll thank me later!

Cave girl = totally darling.

Those pumpkins are impressive. Seriously! And your blog design looks great.

Miss you.

Well this sounds intriguing...I talk a big game--like I can let it all go--but truly, I'm a sucker for flawless formatting.

Oh thanks, Sally! Maddie WAS darling. Her hair was enormous--somehow I didn't get a picture to do it justice. :)

I love that over head picture of everyone carving their pumpkins. We didn't carve anything this year so sad. But yours came out just beautiful!!

Just so your aware... I don't even notice your spacing issues. Maybe I've been reading blogs too much, but I just don't notice it. And along Meredith's line: you can also publish through Microsoft Word. You just have to register your blogger account, type up a regular old word doc, and voila, you're done!

Those pumpkins are amazing! Maybe you should give carving lessons. I, too, am intrigued by Meredith's formatting suggestions. Guess we all have something in common.

Okay, surprising response about what we thought were just regular old pumpkins! In explanation, the first two pumpkins Brayden & Maddie carved on their own from patterns. They each did a great job, except Maddie was sad that her spider lost some legs in the battle and turned out more like a scorpion. The two cute ones are, I admit, my doing. I was especially pleased with the fish for Fisher. The big last one was Connor's own creation. He drew it himself and was very proud.

wow! Fun time had by all! Seriously... family time is the best. Looks like you had a lot of it this month. I can't(can) wait to have more kids and fill my family. Does the can't(can) part make sense? I think I will kill myself if I have to be pregnant again, but I so want a lot little ones that grow to be perfect in every way like yours. :)

Love ya

Loved your post as always, Tracy! You have such a great way of putting things into words, even when you are forced to be a little haphazard! Don't give up on the facebook thing. It isn't nearly as time consuming as blogging. I just go on periodically and click on friends - then I can read a brief status update on everyone. It's quick and fun, and I can't believe how many old friends I've gradually connected with. And can I just say, your contented sigh about the snow and hot chocolate really made me jealous! I SO miss that feeling of looking out the window and seeing the snow. My poor kids don't even remember it now, and some have never seen it. Florida isn't exactly a winter wonderland.
