5 reasons

...I am out of my loop:

1. My computer will NOT allow me to comment on any of your blogs. It's been this way for weeks, minus a fluke day, and it's driving me crazy! But not enough to track you down via email to comment because that would be at least three additional time-sucking steps. How sad is that. You'll just have to assume I feel responsive to your posts. I know it's not the same thing. Grumble.

2. Halloween (a holiday I could frankly do without) is FAST approaching and we are sooo unprepared! Seriously need to get on that one. I'm sensing we'll have an open-the-costume-box-and-see-what-fits Halloween, except...any ideas for Maddie?? Help me think of something as fun as last year!?

3. Young women stuff has kept me especially busy these last two weeks. Today is finally catch up on regular life day (as if one day will do it, haha). It's a daunting list, so I'm denial blogging like any big girl should.

4. I am SUPER behind on things I want to write down before they're lost forever. Call that a heads up for a marathon post or two coming to my blog near you. At least I hope so. We'll see how #2 and #3 go first.

5. A general state of lots to do here, there, and everywhere. Sound familiar? Normally I'd say it's just the time of year, but I've put two and two together and realized that "just the time of year" keeps happening about 10 1/2 months out of the year. So now I'm calling it "life with a big family." I had a lot of time to think about it when I was carpooling people back and forth for 3 hours and 10 minutes throughout the day on Wednesday. Therefore, I now decree that loopy is the new...non-loopy. I am so relieved.

Look, I can comment too! And I feel, SO lucky that I received a comment on that fluke day that you could comment.

Hang in there! You are welcome to come and check out my costume box. She can always be a dead soccer player.

I have a bat or a fireman costume that one or both should fit the little boys. My cousin was the Queen of hearts last year (I think) and I am sure they still have the costume.

You are not alone, Tracy! I love how you so regularly articulate the things I'm feeling. We're totally recycling costumes this year, too - I haven't given new ones a thought. And I'm with you on "this time of year" being pretty much the entire school year! It just gets more crazy the older the kids get. Guess I'll grin and bear it - they say these years will be gone in a flash, so I try to enjoy them as much as I can!

Maddie's Primary Class has voted that she be a nerd. However, they then asked ME what a nerd looks like. As if *I* would know. Sheesh.

You are coping with "life with a big family" beautifully in my opinion! You make it look great. :)

I say "ditto" to all the above comments. You are amazing and I love how you keep it real instead of pretending that life is a cake-walk. The right amount of "what am I doing" with the exact amount of optimism to make it all worth it.
