the princess sans the frog

Two years and four months ago, Maddie made the extreme sacrifice (not that she had a choice) of giving up her very own room to share with her new baby brother. The brother part was okay, after all, she was pretty used to brothers, except that it posed a bit of a decorating dilemma--how do you merge a girlie Cinderella bedroom with a BOY baby?

Here was our solution:

Who knew we were such trendsetters with the Princess & the Frog theme?

Well, times have surely changed, and that cute (little!?) princess above has matured into this lovely young lady,

And the tiny little frog

has evolved into this precious boy,

making it high time to bunk the beds and graduate this big guy,

from tall guy in a toddler bed to small guy on the bottom bunk,
with this excited guy on top, of course,

in order to welcome the not-so-little-frog into the all boys' club,

and give back the [giddy-with-glee] princess the solace of this next door--

hooray!
though she does admit to loving the frog years. :)

This handsome guy, who lost his bed furniture (half of the bunk) in the exchange,

is doing just fine, considering he still has this to himself:

(and has had, since that little head you see there came onto the scene.)

It's squishy in places, but who can complain about being squished with this bunch?

Not even the princess, who will never really be sans frogs.

We've lived here 2 1/2 years and I keep putting off the bedroom decorating that my girls are begging for because I know we'll be switching things around in another year or so when Hayley is ready to share with Corinne. Something you'll never see on my blog--pictures of my kids rooms. Yikes--that's an area of the house that is rarely fit to be shown! Please tell me that your kids don't always keep their rooms that clean?

Everything is so cutely decorated. I am totally going to get some huge posters for the boys room. I haven't really wanted to let them hang things in their room. But BYU flags and posters I could totally handle!!!

You and Rick make cute kids, that's all I have to say! So fun. I was just thinking about you this morning and wanting to find a time for our families to get together. I'll call ya.

Wow, super cute! In case you didn't know, you have a talent for decorating. Seriously! I am like Mirien, in that I neglect the bedroom decorating...it's all I can do to somewhat adorn the rest of the house.

You've inspired me, thanks for sharing.

Loved the post! We've got 3 boys crammed in a room and a princess on her own, too. When you have no sisters, at least there are pros to go with the cons.

The joys of sharing bedrooms...that are actually decorated! Is that even possible? What a cute Family...it's cool that they are all so flexible and willing to switch things around.
