I am back from pioneer trek. There are endless words but my feelings are too tender for blogging. It was an incredible experience. Hard, fun, hot, sweaty, humbling, strengthening...amazing. If you ever get the chance to go, DO. I will again, after I've forgotten a bit of the struggle.

my welcome brigade, best sight ever
To welcome us home, families of the 390 trekkers lined the road leading to the stake center, waving white handkerchiefs as our 8 buses pulled in. It was...awesome. (And the rain after 4 days of hot, hot, hot was pretty great too.)

just listening to d. m.'s stories and all the testimonies on sunday made me cry. it sounds like an incredible experience. i was standing next to your welcome brigade...they were pretty excited to see you!
so cool! Can't wait to hear more about it
Your comments reminded me of Keith last summer after he returned -- he would try to talk about it, but would get too emotional. This lasted quite awhile . . . not sure it's over yet! How neat that you had a similarly wonderful experience. Next time I hope to be able to go.
You are a stud, Tracy. I have no doubt you would have made a great pioneer woman. So glad you were able to get away and do something incredible...even it was super hard.
I have not heard anyone complain about their experience in being part of a trek. They always talk about how it was totally worth all the struggle and heart ache.
Evan and Alyssa went on trek the same time as you. I am in awe of their experiences--they both were changed and I'm still seeing evidences of that almost 2 weeks later. Hopefully I'll get a turn to go someday.
