Crisis Not Averted

Yesterday as we were getting ready for church, a crisis happened:

It is puckering and a hole in the front of my favorite black skirt. It happened while I was blow-drying my hair and had put the hairdryer between my knees for a moment to adjust the round brush in my hair. I do this all the time, but wan't thinking duh, I have a skirt on. So I burnt my skirt. This isn't just any black skirt. It is THE black skirt of my life. My go-to skirt. It's been in my life since 1999. Everyone who knows me will probably be thrilled to see it go since, well, it's been in my life since 1999. But not me. Rick tried to reassure me by saying, you've had it since Maddie was a baby anyway, so you can buy something new! Like that is SO easy. He simply does not understand the beauty of having such a versatile piece of clothing. It matched so many things. It has ebbed and flowed with my ever-changing figure from 2 kids to 5 kids and is the only thing I can count on fitting in through the awkward post-pregnancy months. And now it is ruined. I am sad and frustrated and frankly, have no idea what I'll wear next Sunday. What an enormous BUMMER. And now I have to shop. I hate desperation shopping.

Oh Tracy you are so funny. Everyone has that one piece of clothing that works just perfectly for certain things and that was your little black skirt. You can't just go out and find that same skirt. It may take you years to find something like that again. Men just don't understand that. But you do get to go shopping. That is always a plus. I use to think ugh but I have become a new woman over the last year and can't wait to get back to it after the baby is born. Its even better when you go with someone. Just get a buddy to go with.

I have been meaning to ask and may have missed the blog on this one but does Rick have a specific reason for loosing weight? And its just sick how its melting off so quickly. And are you guys really going to the BAhamas soon?

Rick is losing weight because he wants to live. (bad genetics)

And yes, we are going to the Bahamas in one short month...I sure wish I were losing weight as easily as he is.
