Ga-ross

Wasn't it less than a year ago that I was fearing the number of potato bugs Fisher was eating without us realizing it? This year we've got the same scene with a different baby, and before school today, Brayden rescued a potato bug from Logan's mouth. It was in two pieces, so I'm using the term "rescued" pretty loosely. Eww. If my math is right, I'm thinking that by next summer we'll have outgrown the 'yum, a bug!' stage for good. Think I'll be sad?

Are these potato bugs AKA roley polies? Or a different kind of potato bug?

Actually, either way, that is just gross.

One time when Benji was about the same age, I looked over to see him crawling after a little spider and he almost got it into his mouth before I got to him. Wonder how many of those he's eaten. blech.

I've decided to stop thinking about stuff like that. Whatever happened tot he statistic that we each eat 8 spiders a year without knowing it.

I will drive myself nuts about stuff like that.

EWWW. I was just trying to forget the 'you're always within 6 feet of a spider your entire life' stat I heard the other day. EATING spiders? Without knowing it? Sleep with my mouth closed, check. Wash food before eating, check. How does this happen? Nevermind, I don't want to know.

This comment is not for the weak stomach-ed. :) When my sister was crawling, we found her in my moms bathroom. Her face was covered with something red. Upon closer inspection, she had found some used maxi-pads in the garbage and was sucking on them!!!!! To this day, everytime I find Jonathan with a bug or something nasty, I only have to remember the maxi pad incident and thank my lucky stars that it is a lowly bug he is munching on. Sharing is caring. :)

OK--we had to pull a live 3-inch cockroach out of Lucy's mouth...the same day we had to pull the toilet scrubber out of her hands. It's amazing how these kids survive.
