Ni Hao, Beijing!

I'm too bored with dinner group being my top story. I still hope you email or comment with help, but I'm moving on. In honor of the Olympics, we had an opening ceremony celebration last Friday with foods from around the world.

Brayden made North American tangy meatballs:

Fisher covered Asia with potstickers:

Connor made watermelon balls from...the island nations:

Logan approved the South American chips and 6-layer dip:

Maddie created the Olympic rings that continue to grace the dining room and tv armoire, and made graham cracker cookies for dessert. We went with Sweden on this one for some reason...

And we had Italian bread. We didn't exactly get around the world, but at least we had fun eating things that should otherwise never be eaten together. Maybe for the closing ceremonies we should try to cover what we missed?

Go Olympics!! We're totally sucked in. (How awesome was that men's relay gold?)

I wish I could help you out in the dinner group department, but alas, I have no patience for cooking.

Your Olympic meal sounds so fun. And I can see how the chocolate graham crackers made it to Sweden... chocolate + store bought frosting = almost swiss chocolate frosting.

Oh and as Matt is reading this over my shoulder he is telling me we should do dinner around the world.

Wow--you went all out! That's a great idea to cover the world. We just paid tribute to China with shrimp stir fry and egg rolls eaten with chopsticks. We sat around a low coffee table in front of the TV and ate while we watched the opening ceremonies. Evan had wanted to invite friends and make it a big party but I was not up for entertaining so we kept it simple. Maybe next time we'll try your version!
